"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark 12:32-33
This may be my favorite passage in all of scripture. Paul presents the gospel so clear and beautifully here. I love verses 19-20 "For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things". Christ is fully God; you cannot know one without knowing the other. And God was pleased to reconcile all things to himself. He didn't just have to. He didn't do it even though he didn't want to. He was pleased, through Christ, to reconcile all of creation. How he must love us!
