"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark 12:32-33
In a way this passage is hard to explain because the word "love" is way overused. The only way to truly love is to know God because He is love & He gave us the ability to love. however, the word "love" is used everyday by a lot of people (some who are Christians-others who are not-maybe even some who profess to be Christians but aren't in their heart). God's love is crazily amazing. It's something that can't be explained(in words). It's unending & if we know God then we have that same ability to love in our own hearts.
ReplyDeleteDebra's thoughts are great about how closely love is tied to God. They really are inseperable. If you want to be reassured about God in you looking at how his love is being shown through you is a good way to see him.
ReplyDeleteOur God is so glorious. It's good to know that our God is love, it makes following and trusting him so much easier.
