"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark 12:32-33
This passage starts out a bit somber, but it makes me feel very grateful that I know the truth. I also find this passage very interesting because John tells us that ANYONE who denies Christ is the antichrist. That makes for a lot of antichrist in our world, not just one or two. Fortunately, we as believers have acknowledged Christ and therefore have the Father as well. It's very comforting to know this truth.
ReplyDeleteWhat we do with Christ means everything. John basically says what we do with Christ is what we do with God. John mentions those who reject Christ as antichrists. Some of these antichrists came out from among the church. They were with the church for a bit, but they didn't stay faithful. John says if they don't hold to the truth the never really belong to us. What do we claim about Christ with our lives and our mouths? What we do with Christ means everything.
