"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark 12:32-33
This passage is extremely encouraging to me. I love "But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you. . ." Sometimes I feel inadequate as a read through a passage because I do not know the Greek and everything about the context of the passage. This verse is encouraging and at the same time challenging.
ReplyDeleteIt is encouraging to know that the spirit teaches me as I read a passage, and I do not have to know everything. At the same time it is extremely challenging because it seems as if this promise comes with a condition: "Abide in him." When we abide in him, we hear his leading and his teaching. Outside from him, there is no teaching???
Anyway, it is a good challenge.
I really appreciate everything Ashley's said.
