"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark 12:32-33
So I understood the first part and wow is it amazing to know that we have such a loving God that he cares for our needs and he gives us what we ask for when we NEED it:) wow thats awesome.... that being said I had a tough time at the end of the passage particularly verses 16 and 17 I mean I have an idea but would love it if someone could help out a bit on those verses thanks:) and stroo if you don't have time to post then we can talk about it later
ReplyDeleteI know some of you are freaking out over the "sin that leads to death" that John writes about. What sin could cost me eternal life? Keep in mind that John's whole point in this passage is that "You may know you have eternal life." By believing in Christ we can be sure of our life with God forever. We can be sure that when we ask anything according to God's will and plan he hears and provides. We can be sure of forgiveness as we "pray and God will give us life." You are safe in the arms of God if you believe in his Son and give your life to him.
ReplyDeleteMore info on: Sin that Leads to Death
What kind of death is John talking about?
Sin results in physical death for both
believers and unbelievers, so John must be
refering to the spiritual death.
What sin leads to death?
Denying Christ as Son of God - 1 John 2:18-25
John wrote in chapter 2:18-19 that some had
gone out from the believers who had never
really belonged. They were seperated
because they were antichrists (against
Christ). They denied that Christ was the
Son of God (v 20-23).
